Rainy Day Driving Blues

Filed under: Reflections - Ric @ 10:09 pm

Rain, rain, piss off. There was a time when I would wax poetical about the sorry state of the weather, but not today. Today I’m just in a foul mood. There’s been too much rain. No one remembers how to drive in the rain. Commuting is taking too long. Incidentally a Stats Canada Study shows that on average we spend about two full weeks a year in Toronto commuting to and from the office. Boy isn’t that a cheery thought.

…my old fashioned air conditioning system - the wind…

Being well read and theologically educated, I’m aware that it rains on the just and the unjust, but like Snoopy from the Peanuts cartoon says, “What about us in betweens?” With any luck the sun will return tomorrow. I will be able to drive without the mechanical swish swish of the time delayed wipers on the windshield. I might even hazard to roll down the window and enjoy my old fashioned air conditioning system - the wind.

Hope springs eternal [ doesn’t it?] and over such inconsequential things indeed.
