Grim Stats

Filed under: Reflections - Ric @ 5:30 pm

The month of June has been a particularly hard one for me. You see I’ve been following the Grim Reaper’s stats as they relate to me and so far he’s 2-1-0 for the month.

…I’m glad to see the end of it…

The first encounter was with my Mother-in-law and that has been particularly hard on my immediate family and I have discussed before. The second one was of import to me and many fellow bloggers as I learned that Michelle Goodrich of Mandarin Design passed away last week. She was a wonderful woman who helped many people wrestle with CSS and other HTML formating issues. She will be missed very much. Stu’s tribute page has much more information

The third one started in the late evening of the very last day of the month. I received a phone call from my sister, and she related to me that my Mum had had a heart attack. It was a near run thing, and thanks only to the speedy actions of my Step Father and the ambulance personal, she is in the hospital today, doing well, and on her way to recovery.

June has been a grim month, and I’m glad to see the end of it.

I’m with you on that, Ric.
My May and June haven’t exactly been the best for me either.
I pray for July and onwards.

And I’ll make sure I have a mention for your dear Mother. I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

I hear you. June was a hard month. May July be far better for all of us.

Pep - Mum is on the mend, she should be home by Tuesday.

Jack - I agree, let’s have a much better July

Hey Ric, glad to hear your mom is recovering. We’ve also not been immune to the curse of June. Mel’s good friend Donna, who came to the wedding, passed away last Monday after a heroic battle with cancer (it was her fourth bout of it). Here’s to happier days!

Tim - I’m very sorry for your loss. Happier days indeed.
