I enjoy/savor most of your pictures. The draw my untrained eye and often evoke thoughts and memories. This one’s association was a bit of family lore, having to do with the lions guarding the entrance to the New York Public Library, which I’ve never seen. Legend has it they will stand and roar when a virgin walks by.
My late Uncle Hal, when he was in elementary school was assigned the task of memorizing a poem, by his teacher, who considered herself devout, and also taught sunday school. It was years before he understood why he sat in the corner all day (or was it all week?) after his teacher administered an overly enthusiastic paddling.
There once was a girl named Mary.
The lions didn’t roar when she walked by the Library.

Scott - That’s a great story. Thanks for sharing. I’m glad you like the photos, most are just a random spur of the moment thing. Something catches my eye and then click.
